ACNE

HOW IS ACNE TREATED?
The treatment for acne depends on the severity of the acne, but the most important concepts to remember is that treatment takes time and the treatment will vary from person to person.

1. MILD ACNE- is used to describe people who have a few whiteheads, blackheads, and/or pustules. Mild acne can be controlled using a good home care regimen. Speak with the skin care specialist at the Shanti Medical Spa & Wellness Center about the different skin care products we have depending on your skin type and color.

2. MODERATE ACNE-is used to describe people who have many whiteheads, blackheads, pustules, and papules that cover ¼ to ¾ of face. Remember, if you have moderate acne, the most important thing is to seek help early to prevent scarring. This will help you in the long run to avoid deeper and longer lasting acne scars. At the Shanti Medical Spa & Wellness Center, we have a variety of different skin care products, and skin treatments that can help moderate acne. We recommend that you make an appointment today for us to evaluate your skin and discuss the different options we have. Your treatment regimen may include the state of the art treatment with chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or blue light laser therapy as well as a good skin care line to use at home. This can be followed up with a laser skin rejuvenation to reduce the visible scarring from acne.

3. SEVERE ACNE-is used to describe people who have deep cyst and inflammation that has caused extensive skin damage and scarring. This needs to be treated immediately to prevent further damage. At the Shanti Medical Spa & Wellness Center, our physician can prescribe you medication to help you with your severe acne. We will also start you on a good skin care regimen to use at home as well as other treatments as your acne becomes better controlled

ACNE BLUE LIGHT LASER TREATMENT

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Acne blue light laser treatment is a new method of treating acne. At the Shanti Medical Spa & Wellness Center, we use the ELOS technology that combines both radiofrequency and optical energy to treat acne. This is an intense pulse light that appears blue. The blue light targets the cells and bacteria that cause acne in the skin, destroying them as the light energy hits them. The other unique advantage to using this technology is that it can improve the overall texture of acneic skin

WHO SHOULD GET THIS BLUE LIGHT LASER TREATMENT?
People who suffer from blackheads, whiteheads, mild acne, or moderately severe acne with pustules and some cyst.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TREATMENTS?
At the Shanti Medical Spa & Wellness Center we recommend that you have acne treatments two times per week for one month, and then as needed to control your acne.
